Museum in Koszalin

Museum in Koszalin has status of local cultural institutions, our business is organized by Municipality of Koszalin. The museum is a completely renovated palace-mill on Mlynska Street.

We mainly deal with the collection of historical and documentary archeology, ethnography, art, history of Koszalin and Pomerania material. We index and elaborate monuments, the dissemination of knowledge about them and conducting field research. We have a particularly rich record of archaeological investigation (cooperation with leading scientific centers.)

Museum visitors can enjoy our permanent exhibitions including the exhibition of the history of Koszalin, a rich exhibition of coins and medals, the bourgeois interiors exhibition and presentation of monuments connected to jamnenski culture. Every year we provide to visitors and several temporary exhibitions.

The confirmation of our work are the prizes and awards gained in regional and national competitions, including the most important competition for the museum - Sybilla Competition, organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

In December 2009, Minister of Culture and National Heritage has decided to enter the Museum in Koszalin, the State Register of the Museum. The entry is a confirmation of the technical and organizational level of our institution.
